My Danish Gown

Aylwen Gardiner-Garden Aylwen Gardiner-Garden Aylwen Gardiner-Garden Aylwen Gardiner-Garden Aylwen Gardiner-Garden

This Danish wedding gown has long been of interest to me, and with a trip planned to Denmark in August I just had to finish it. I've chosen a fine white cotton with matching thread for embroidery.

I've used a combination of patterns to copy this gown: Sense and Sensibility Patterns' "Elegant Lady's Closet", Nehelenia's Chemise Dress and the pattern in the book.

The challenge was getting this dress finished in time - I started it a few days ago and finished it at half past three this morning - my husband took a photo of me after breakfast!

I have thoroughly documented the journey of this gown in my blog and on my Facebook page.

Exquisite!   I love how you puzzled different patterns together to get the look--and it turned out fantastic! :-D

This is so dainty and lovely! Just beautiful. I hope it is as lovely to wear in Denmark as it is to look at.
