We do this through articles, features and our core Masterclasses, which give you not a standard "How to Sew" course, but the basic building blocks of really great professional-quality sewing.
Q: I'm already a YWU subscriber and I'd like to become a member of Foundations RevealedTM too. How do I upgrade? A: Sign up to our combined subscription on your "My Account" page (link at the top of every page) and then go to your Paypal account and cancel your existing subscription. If you have any questions, you'd like help doing this or the subscriptions overlap and you'd like a partial refund, drop us an email and we'll do our best to take care of it for you.

Q: I used to subscribe and cancelled, but now I want to come back (or subscribe to Foundations RevealedTM instead). Can I still use my old username and password? A: Yes, of course. Click the "My Account" link (given at the top of every page) to be taken to your subscriber account - you won't be able to log in to YWU itself but you will be able to log in there. Select a subscription type from the drop down box on the right and hit "Order", and you'll be taken to Paypal to re-subscribe with your old account. If you have any questions, drop us an email and we'll do our best to help.
Q: I don't have a Paypal account and would rather pay my subscription by credit card. Is this possible? Unfortunately, no. We prefer to use Paypal for many reasons, but primarily because (a) it ensures your security - we never see your financial details - and (b) you have complete control and can cancel your own subscription at any time. We think that both of those things are vitally important for your enjoyment of the site.
Q: Can I share the information in the Masterclasses or in the website with my friends and family? A: No, please do not share our services with non-members. Our staff works hard to provide you with quality products and content, please don't share it with others. If you know someone who is interested, please join our affiliate program and encourage them to sign up. You will receive a cash commission for your efforts, and you will allow our site to continue to provide the highest quality sewing and costuming information available online. Q: I just signed up and I want to get started right away. What do I do? A: Once your payment has been completed you will receive an email with login instructions. You may also log into the portal by using this link. Be sure to have your username and password handy. Q: I forgot my username and/or password, what do I do? A: On both the login page and the homepage there are links to retrieve your password.
Q: I'm trying to print an article out, but I keep getting error messages. What am I doing wrong?
A: This is a problem with Internet Explorer 6, we've discovered. If you upgrade to Internet Explorer 7, or even better, download the awesome free browser Firefox, the problem should be fixed.
Q: How do I cancel my membership? A: We are sorry to see you go! You can cancel your own subscription in your Paypal account at any time.
Alternatively, email us at least three working days prior to your renewal date with "Cancel please" in the subject line. (You can find the ending date of your subscription on your "My Account" page.)
You will continue to have access to the members-only pages until the date you paid up to. In other words, if you signed up on December 15th and you cancel on August 3rd, you will continue to have access until August 14th - the day before your subscription for the next month would have been due. Q: I meant to cancel my membership but forgot. I cancelled now, can I have a refund? A: Unfortunately, we do not offer full or partial refunds for late cancellations. You must cancel your membership before the next payment in order to not be charged. Once you have cancelled you will continue to have access to the portal until the date you are paid up to. The only exception is if you contact us within the first 30 days of your initial purchase requesting a refund - we will of course honor our money back guarantee. Q: I referred someone to your site, but I forgot to use my affiliate link. Can I still get credit? A: No, unfortunately you must use your affiliate link in order to receive affiliate credit. This is necessary for accounting and tax purposes.
