Thank you!   This article was especially helpful to me because I work for a publishing company, designing the clothing for the novel covers. Last year I created an 1870 traveling dress, but wasn't allowed much time to get to know the character (I barely got to read the first chapter!). Thankfully, the character is very much like myself, so when the book finally came out last month I was pleased to discover how perfect the costume was for Anna.

I will be keeping your tips in mind as I put the finishing touches on my current design - a white 1920 dress for a character living in India!
