HoopsThank you for this article - I've probably read it about 1000 times now! I'm almost done with the first of a pair of pocket hoops (using the consideretions pattern from marquise.de) and wanted to thank you for tips - like making casings rather than boning channels, and folding the outer fabric to whip the encased cane on to the body. Thanks, again!
Material for boningI really love this article. I have just one question: could you please tell me where you bought the cane? I found somehing called " flat oval reed" on ebay but as I would have to ship it to Germany I would like to be sure that it is the right thing. I hope you can help me. Thank you very much.
The key thing to look for is called "half-round" cane, 1/2" or 5/8". I purchased mine from a basket weaving site, of which there are many selling the same cane and say they ship world wide. The ovals are too flat and more likely to snap when bent.
