I'm totally in love with that black hat :D

Wonderful article -- it really makes me want to try my hand at creating something hat-related myself!

Fabric covered   These are awesome, and I especially love the how-to for all the decorations. Is there a place to look for an idea on how to create the forms to do something similar in fabric?

Thanks!

covering straw   There is no reason not to cover the straw with fabric with the right mull. French fleece or the green dream batting I used in my Flared Mad Hatter article can be used as a base before adding fabric over straw. You would not have to cover the entire hat just the under brim is a good choice. Often large straw hats are lighter than buckram hats so starting with straw it is a good way to go. Lynn
